Who are Suitable Choices & what do we do?
Michelle started in financial services as a mortgage administrator for The Woolwich in 2001 and moved over to advising with in estate agency in 2002. She then moved on to providing specialist advice for shared ownership and help to buy schemes until 2009. Michelle qualified as a financial adviser in 2010 and took her diploma in financial advice in 2012. Michelle is also qualified and experienced to give later life and equity release mortgage advice.
Michelle lives in St Nicholas at Wade with her partner Dave, her daughter Amelia and her 2 Labradors Willow and Olive. Michelle and her family are DFL’s and moved here from Oxted in Surrey during the pandemic and they love it here.
Michelle loves being a mortgage broker as she feels as though she is helping. She can help you move, secure a rate, plan for the future. She loves helping people who may have unique scenarios and have been turned away from the high street or who thought they couldn’t do what they need to but actually they can.
When eating out, Michelle loves a good Mexican meal with a corona, and she can make a mean chilli!
Michelle is a huge music fan, and she is happiest listening to a live band either at a venue or pub, and enjoys all types of music. If she had to pick a favourite song it would be Elbow On day like this.
Neil has been in Financial Services since 2017 where he obtained a degree 20 years ago. He spent 20 years previous on commercial radio as a presenter. In 2017 He decided to use his degree to train as a Mortgage Broker which has been a great experience.
Neil was born and brought up on the south coast in Chichester, then moved all over the place until settling in Kent and loving it. I'm married with 2 boys at school. Never a dull moment!!
Neil’s favourite part of the job is that he loves getting to know people and potentially helping them achieve things that they never knew they could do.
When Neil does the cooking at home he loves a carbonara! He doesn't really have a favourite song as he likes so many, but if pushed, it would have to be The Killers, Mr. Brightside.
Terry has been in the industry for 12 years, he has 4 children and a English bulldog which keeps him busy, he enjoys spending time with them when not working.
Terry’s favourite part of the job is helping people achieve their dream move, especially when they have been advised elsewhere that it isn’t achievable and going above and beyond for his clients.
Terry’s love’s a Thai curry and his favourite song is ‘in the air tonight’ by Phil Collins.
Jon started in property as a Mortgage Advisor in 2014 working for a busy corporate estate agency.
I was dealing with a high volume of clients, I was missing the ability to spend time with people and to really help each person individually. That is why, in 2019, I decided to start my own company where I can meet people in the comfort of their own home and to take that time to work out the best way to put people in the best financial position with their mortgage.
Over time, I have missed the camaraderie of working in a team so in 2023 I chose to take my business to a new network and join Suitable Choices. This allows me to spend more time talking to and helping clients, which is the part of the job I really enjoy. It also allows me to spend more time with my wife and sons and achieving that work-life balance.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, swimming and running. I love a Chinese takeaway, a good whisky and listening to any old school rock anthem.”
Brooke has recently started working in the financial services industry and is really enjoying it.
She is soon to start her cemap qualifications.
Brooke lives with her husband Dan and they share two boys together Hunter & Cooper
She loves cooking and having people over for dinner. Her favourite type of food is Tapas with a good glass of white wine.
My favourite song has to be body by loud luxury it’s my song I play really loud whilst driving.
Jakob has been in the industry for several years now and is a fully Cemap qualified adviser. Jakob has a wealth of experience in retail banking and estate agency based financial services.
Jakob lives with his partner Emily, and he is soon to become a father for the first time which he is excited about.
Jakob’s favourite part of the process is securing the mortgage offer and sharing the news with clients. He also loves to overcome objections which others have advised could be an issue. (working alongside Dave he will have plenty of fun with these).
Jakob thinks he is a bit of a Gino Di Campo at home, and he loves making Lasagne. His favourite tune is forever young by Mr. Hudson.
Chloe is our mortgage administrator who has worked in the financial industry for over 10 years and has thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
She is fully Cemap qualified, ensuring all cases are packaged to the highest quality.
Chloe is with her Partner Dave and she has 3 Children.
Chloe’s favourite part of the mortgage process has got to be receiving the offer and being able to share the news with the client! That’s when you know all your hard work has paid off.
When eating out Chloe loves a roast dinner as you can’t beat a carvery and her favourite song is Calvin Harris, Summer as it’s the best part of the year!
Janice is our Business Manager and she began working in mortgages 12 years ago doing mortgage administration, then started training to be an accountant.
She qualified whilst doing Payroll and Accounts in a large estate agency and worked there for over 7 years.
Janice has been with her partner Dan for many years and they have 2 children together Samuel and Freddie.
Janice’s Favourite part of the mortgage process is being able to help people and build a rapport with them throughout their mortgage process, from application stage right through to when it completes.
Mortgages can be extremely stressful and letting the clients know that they have someone there they can contact with any queries and concerns, no matter how trivial they think they are, can help turn a stressful situation into something more manageable for them.
Janice isn’t fussy at all where food is concerned, but if she had to pick a meal it would have to be a rare Steak with lots of red wine. Janice’s Favourite song is ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers as it reminds me of my sons and always makes me smile.
Neil is the newest member to the team and has joined as an experienced mortgage broker.
Neil started as a mortgage adviser in 2005 for Nationwide where he transitioned to an independent broker in 2015 where he has been one for 6 years.
Neil is with his long term partner Lynsey and has 2 children. Neils favourite part of being in the mortgage industry is getting his clients to realise their dreams in owning a property whilst giving them the best possible advice.
When eating out Neil loves a good curry and his classic song is come together by the Beatles.
Dave is the Managing Director of Suitable Choices and has been in the industry since 1999. He wanted his existing and new clients to have honest transparent advice with no confusing jargon. That is what he believes Suitable Choices is all about.
Dave started off as an administrator and worked from the ground up. He has also worked in the city, retail banking and estate agency, so his knowledge is second to none.
Dave is married to Ashleigh and has two children Lucy and Charlie. His best part of being in the mortgage industry is knowing that he has helped someone achieve their goals.
He loves a good old fashioned steak and a glass of red wine and his favourite song is ‘for once in my life’ by Stevie Wonder.
